Using Smart Links is a fast and pain-free process that can be completed in your dashboard with a few easy steps.  If you do not yet have a URL account, you can register here to get started.

Step 4: Set your conditions.  You can choose to target a specific geo location, a specific platform, or target a geo-platform combination.  For example, if you are trying to send users in Canada using Android devices to your app you can select Canada and Android in the drop down menus.

Step 5: For links using only a country condition input the country specific link you want to send users to.

For links using a platform specific link enter the link you’d like to send the user to in the Platform specific link box.  Then enter a fallback link in the App Store/ fallback link box for times when the first link can’t be accessed.  We included this option for instances when you want to send a user to your app, but they don’t already have the app installed; the fallback link allows you to send the user to the app store where they can install your app, or some other location of your choosing.  Conditions that include a geo-platform combination also require both a primary and a fallback link.

Once all of these steps are complete you can click Save Changes to update your account.  You can create as many conditions as you’d like; simply hit Add New for each new condition and fill out the required sections.  If you set competing conditions the more explicit of the two will be used.  For example, if you have a condition for all users in Canada that links to your website, and a condition for users in Canada on Android devices that links to your app, an Android user in Canada will be taken to your app.   Any user that does not meet any of your set conditions will be directed to the original link location.
